How do you know if you are entitled to PIS?

To be eligible for the PIS benefit, you must meet some basic requirements. First, you must have been registered with PIS/PASEP for at least five years. 

Furthermore, the worker must have carried out paid activity for a legal entity for at least 30 days, consecutively or not, in the base year considered for calculating the benefit. 

Another important requirement is that the salary received during this period cannot have exceeded two minimum wages. 

Finally, it is essential that the employer has correctly informed the employee's data in the RAIS (Annual Social Information Report) or in eSocial.

7 ways to check PIS by CPF in 2024 

You can check your PIS number easily, either online or by phone. There are 7 methods available, just meet all the criteria and follow the steps below!

1. FGTS Application

The first on the list is the FGTS app, which can be downloaded on both devices Android as iOS. After downloading, just follow the instructions below!

  • Access the application via your cell phone;
  • After that, log in with your Gov.br account;
  • Then select the “More” icon, then the “addresses and personal data” option.

It is worth noting that the PIS number will be together with other personal data, so it is important to follow the steps above.

Those who are not registered must follow the system's step-by-step instructions, provide their personal information, create a password and activate their account via verification email. After accepting the terms of the contract, the consultation will be available.

2. Digital Work Card Application

The process through the CTPS app is not very different from the previous guidelines. The app is also available on iOS devices and Android

After downloading it, log in using your Gov.br account and CPF. At the bottom of the screen, locate the contracts area and click on the “+” icon next to any of your contacts to view the PIS/PASEP number.

3. Worker Cashier Application

Another way to check your PIS is through the Caixa Trabalhador app, it is completely free and simple. To do this, just follow the step-by-step instructions below!

  • Download the app on your iOS or Android;
  • After installation, click “Access” on the home screen.
  • Then, log in and enter your CPF to log in;
  • Once logged in, select the option “My NIS” (Social Registration Number).

Finally, if you don't already have an account, follow the instructions to create an account and set a password.

4. My INSS Application

To check your PIS/PASEP using the Meu INSS app, simply log in using the CPF and password linked to your Gov.br account. Then, access the “my registration” option, where your personal data is available.

This is another way for you to access your PIS number using your CPF, without having to spend anything.

5. CNIS website

The National Social Information Registry is a website that you can access to check your PIS number. The process is very simple, just like the others.

  • Access the CNIS website;
  • Then click on “Citizen”;
  • In the upper left corner, select “Registration”;
  • After that, choose the “Affiliate” option, enter the NIS and fill in the requested information (full name, CPF, date of birth and mother's name). 

After completing the data, click “continue”. If all the information is correct, the system will display your PIS number.

6. Caixa Telephone Number

For those who do not have access to the internet, the telephone is one of the most accessible options for this group. First, call 0800 726 0207 and access the Caixa Cidadão service, which offers information on PIS, FGTS, unemployment insurance, social card and other services.

Customer service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To speak to a representative, call Monday through Friday from 8am to 9pm, or Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

7. Social Security Telephone Number 

Finally, there is also the Social Security telephone number, to do so, simply call 135. When calling, enter your CPF and choose “other matters” (option 3) or dial 0 to speak directly to an attendant. After confirming your data, you will receive your PIS number.
