What is Student Aid?

In addition, there are different types of student aid programs, varying according to the level of education (secondary, technical, higher education) and the regions of the country.

How does Student Aid work?

The benefit provides a financial amount to students who are in the first 3 years of high school and who take the Enem exam.

One of the objectives of the benefit is to provide financial support to students. In addition, it is worth noting that the benefit amount can be used to cover expenses that are part of the school routine, such as:

• Transport;
• Food;
• School supplies;
• Housing;
• Between others.

To receive the aid, the student must have a digital social savings account, which will not be considered in the calculation of family income, ensuring that the student continues to have access to other social benefits.

How much is Student Aid?

The 2024 student aid aims to encourage young people to complete high school, with payments made in stages throughout the year. The incentives are distributed as follows:

• Enrollment incentive: R$200 paid at the beginning of the year;
• Frequency incentive: R$1,800 divided into 9 installments of R$200;
• Completion incentive: R$1,000 paid at the end of the year to approved students who participate in educational assessments;
• Enem Incentive: R$200 after participating in ENEM, exclusive for 3rd year high school students.

Remembering that the total amount can reach up to R$1,400,000 per year, as long as the student maintains school attendance and good academic performance.

Rules for obtaining Student Aid  

To be eligible for the Pé-de-Meia Program, students must meet specific criteria. The program is aimed at low-income youth and aims to provide financial support to ensure they stay in school. 

Generally, to obtain Student Aid, it is necessary to:

• Be between 14 and 24 years old;
• Being a low-income student;
• Be enrolled in regular high school (1st, 2nd or 3rd year);
• Belong to a family registered with Bolsa Família at the beginning of the school year;
• Be registered in the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF).

Furthermore, it is important to mention that, for students in Youth and Adult Education (EJA), the rules for receiving incentives will still be determined by the Ministry of Education in future regulations.

How to get Student Aid?

In principle, in order to receive student aid for 2024, the student does not need to register. Remember that the student must be between 14 and 24 years old and enrolled in regular high school.

The student must have a CPF (Individual Taxpayer Registry) to be eligible for the aid. You must also have a savings account in your name to receive the amounts, which can be a Caixa Econômica Federal social savings account.

Additionally, it is recommended to consult the CRAS (Social Assistance Reference Center) in your city to obtain more information about the payment and confirm that the data is regularized.
